1. Who we are

Jetty Digital is a business name of Jake Baden North trading as Donkeh Labs, ABN 87 636 703 254, based in Adelaide, South Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business. "You" means whoever the personal information is about.

We build and run websites, missed-call text back, follow-up messaging, review requests and past customer campaigns for Australian pest control businesses.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Small businesses under $3 million turnover are currently exempt from parts of that Act. We do not rely on that exemption. We apply this policy either way, and we will keep applying it if the exemption is removed.

2. Two different roles

We handle personal information in two distinct ways, and it matters which one applies to you.

a. Information about you, dealing with us

If you enquire, book a call, request a teardown video, or become a client, we collect and use your information for our own purposes. This policy governs that directly.

b. Information we handle for our clients

When we run a pest control business's website, phone number, inbox and messaging, we handle information about their customers on their instructions. In that situation the pest control business decides what is collected and why. We act as their service provider.

If you are a customer of a pest control business that uses Jetty Digital, and you want your information accessed, corrected or deleted, contact that business first. They control it. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request to them and help them action it.

3. What we collect

From enquirers and clients

  • Name, business name and trading details
  • Phone number, email address and postal or service address
  • Your Google Business Profile, Facebook page or existing website address
  • What you told us about your business, services and service areas
  • Call, text and email records of our dealings with you
  • Billing details and payment history. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us
  • ABN and business details needed for invoicing and GST

On behalf of our clients

  • Their customers' names, phone numbers and email addresses
  • Property address, suburb and property type
  • Enquiry details, such as the pest problem described
  • Message history between the business and its customer
  • Call records, including missed-call events and message delivery status
  • Consent and unsubscribe status for marketing messages

Automatically, from our website

  • IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited
  • The site or search that referred you
  • Campaign tags in the link you arrived on, such as UTM values

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or criminal record) and we ask that you do not send it to us. If it reaches us anyway, we will delete it unless we are required to keep it.

4. How we collect it

Mostly directly from you: when you fill in a form on this site, ring us, text us, email us, book a call, or talk to us during onboarding.

We also collect information from publicly available sources, such as your Google Business Profile or your existing website, when preparing a teardown video or a proposal you asked for.

For our clients' systems, information is collected as their customers contact them: through website forms, phone calls, text messages and connected messaging channels.

5. Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and prepare what you asked for
  • To build, run, support and maintain your system
  • To send service and account messages, including billing
  • To send the missed-call texts, follow-ups, review requests and campaigns that our clients have asked us to send on their behalf
  • To improve our services and understand which pages and messages work
  • To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations

We do not sell personal information. We do not sell or share leads. If your enquiry comes to us, it goes to us, not to a list of other pest control businesses.

6. Marketing messages

Commercial electronic messages in Australia are governed by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and telemarketing calls by the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth). We take both seriously, because a large part of what we build sends messages.

  • Every marketing message we send identifies the business sending it
  • Every marketing message includes a working unsubscribe, and we action opt-outs promptly
  • We send marketing messages only where there is consent, express or reasonably inferred
  • Past customer campaigns go only to contacts our client confirms have an existing relationship with the business and have not opted out

Service messages — a reply to your missed call, an appointment confirmation, a billing notice — are not marketing and continue regardless of marketing preferences.

To stop marketing from us, reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email [email protected]. To stop marketing from one of our clients, use the opt-out in their message or contact that business.

7. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the service:

WhoWhat for
Our marketing and messaging platformHosting the website, business phone number, inbox, automations and campaign sending
Telecommunications and SMS carriersDelivering calls and text messages
Email delivery providersSending email on our and our clients' behalf
Payment and accounting providersTaking subscription payments and issuing invoices
Analytics providersUnderstanding website traffic
Domain registrars and hosting providersRegistering and serving domains and websites
Professional advisersLegal, accounting and insurance advice where needed

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Our clients can see the information their own system holds. We do not give one client access to another client's information.

8. Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, most commonly in the United States and the European Union. That means your information may be held overseas.

Under Australian Privacy Principle 8, before we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the APPs. Practically, that means we choose established providers with published privacy and security commitments, and we contract on their data processing terms.

9. Automation and automated decisions

Much of what we build is automated: a text goes out when a call is missed, a follow-up sends after an enquiry, a review request sends after a completed job. These are message-sending rules based on an event. They do not evaluate a person, assess their character, or decide anything about their rights or entitlements.

We do not use personal information in automated decision-making that produces legal effects, or similarly significantly affects, any individual. We do not use it for automated credit assessment, eligibility scoring, profiling for pricing, or any comparable decision.

If that changes, we will update this section to describe the decisions involved, the kinds of personal information used, and how the process works, in line with the transparency obligations commencing 10 December 2026.

10. Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. Analytics tell us which pages are read and which links are clicked, in aggregate.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not behave properly if you do.

Websites we build for clients may use cookies and tracking chosen by that client. Their site, their choice, and their privacy policy applies.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. That includes encrypted connections, access controls, multi-factor authentication on the accounts that matter, and limiting access to the people who need it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong, section 14 explains what we do.

12. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that go nowhere: up to 24 months, then deleted
  • Client records: for the life of the engagement, then as long as needed for legal, tax and insurance purposes
  • Financial records: at least 5 years, as Australian tax law requires
  • Unsubscribe and opt-out records: kept indefinitely, so we do not message someone who asked us not to
  • Information held for a client: for the life of their subscription. See our Terms of service for what happens on cancellation

When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we delete it or de-identify it.

13. Access and correction

Under APP 12 and APP 13 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong.

Email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first. There is no fee to make a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost for a large or repeated one, and we will tell you before we do.

If we refuse, we will tell you why in writing, and how to complain about it.

If your request is about information held inside a pest control business's system, see section 2b: that business controls it, and we will help them action your request.

14. Data breaches

If personal information is lost or accessed without authorisation and it is likely to result in serious harm, the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies. We will assess the breach promptly, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required, and tell you what happened and what to do about it.

Where a breach affects a client's system, we will notify that client without undue delay and work with them on their obligations.

15. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email [email protected] with the details. You will deal with Jake directly. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and give you a written response within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

  • Online: oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints
  • Phone: 1300 363 992
  • Post: GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001

16. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we do changes, or when the law does. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell current clients directly rather than relying on you noticing.
