Past customer campaigns

Send relevant messages to eligible past customers

Turn a usable, permissioned customer list into a timely campaign for annual inspections, seasonal treatments or recurring pest work. Every contact still needs a valid reason to hear from you.

Useful timing beats a generic blast

The strongest reason to contact a past customer is something relevant to the work you did and the relationship they already know.

01

Start with the right people

Review how the contacts were collected, what they agreed to and whether the proposed message fits that relationship.

02

Send a relevant offer

Use service history, season or location to make the campaign specific instead of shouting at the whole database.

03

Route replies into the inbox

Responses land in the inbox so a real person can answer questions and confirm scope.

Before send

Check the list. Shape the offer. Start small

No bought lists and no “send to everyone” button without reviewing the audience first.

01

Audit the source and permission

We document where the contacts came from, remove known opt-outs and flag records that should not be used.

02

Build a relevant segment

Group customers by completed treatment or inspection, timing and suitability for the offer.

03

Approve, test and monitor

You approve the sender, wording and offer. We test a small batch and watch replies and opt-outs.

Australia’s Spam Act

Past customer does not automatically mean permission

Commercial email and SMS generally require consent, accurate sender identification and an easy, functional unsubscribe. The business authorising the message remains responsible, even when a provider sends it.

Read ACMA’s guidance ↗

Use express consent where available and keep evidence of it
Do not buy or scrape lists and assume they are usable
Identify the business and include current contact details
Make opt-out clear, functional and action it within five working days
Keep the unsubscribe facility working for at least 30 days
Fair questions

The list gets checked before it gets used

We would rather exclude a doubtful contact than create a compliance problem.

Can I upload every customer I have ever had?
You can provide the source data for review, but that does not mean every record should receive marketing. Permission, source, relationship and opt-out history matter.
Can we message people to ask for consent?
ACMA says you cannot send a commercial electronic message merely to ask for consent. Consent needs to exist before the marketing message is sent.
What happens when someone replies STOP?
They are suppressed from future marketing and the request must be honoured within the required timeframe. We design the workflow to make that visible and reliable.
